Tuckernuck Yacht Management, LLC
With over 40 years’ experience as Captains, Chefs, Stewardesses, Day Workers and Charter Brokers, we have satisfied the demands of not only owners, but crews and vendors. Not from behind a desk, but with tens of thousands of ocean miles, countless refits, charters and successful crew retention. We believe in maintaining the high standards set by our years in the industry. We recognize that often owners only have a few days to enjoy their yachts and it’s our job to make that the best experience possible to facilitate the love of the marine environment.
We are not a permanent crew placement company. We provide professional freelance captains, chefs, stewardesses and day workers. We certainly are not trying to replace permanent crew, they are vital and important to an active program. The reality is if you don’t use your boat more than 12 weeks out of the year, we may be a cost effective measure. Our roster of freelance crew loves the opportunity to travel to all corners of the world keeping their skills sharp and ready for the next adventure. They also enjoy less time on the dock. And they are our biggest assets. All crew is screened, resume reviewed and personally interviewed.
With our Yacht Management Program, we allow your captain to get away from the navigation station and paperwork, and get to doing what they do best – taking care of your yacht.
We offer seasonal programs as well as a la carte choices to meet every yacht owner’s needs, big or small.
After years of networking we have gathered a roster of trusted co- workers, mentors, owners, vendors and industry experts. The foundation of our company.
All the resources you need to enjoy worry-free weekends on your boat with friends and family. Keeps your boat clean and engines running smoothly.
Everything the weekend package offers and more. If you have linens and a galley that get regularly used, this package will ease the hassle when you step aboard.

BREAKING IT DOWN
So all this information has been a bit overwhelming? Let’s break it down with an example by boat – the last one we worked on. The owner and guests used the boat for 10 weeks out of the year.
- Captain Salary (at industry standard of 1000/ft) = $60,000
- Chef / Stew = $35,000
- Total Cost of Crew Salaries = $95,000
- Provisions for Yearly Live Aboard Crew = $18,250
- Total = $113,250
If that same 60ft boat were to sign up for the Americas Cup Package for all 12 months the cost would be: $50,400.00 – Saving over: $62,850.00
That includes a licensed captain for 10 weeks out of the year. You could add more time at an additional cost as necessary. As well as a Chef/Stew. Your yacht would still be managed on a daily basis, the vendors would be the same and it would all be easily tracked and maintained.
We have a roster that includes experienced power boat captains, performance sailing boat captains, day captains as well as chefs, stews and day workers because we have all done this work for the last 40 years. The daily check lists are extensive and customized to the yacht you own. Whether it be inspecting the rigging of a boat to prepare for a regatta or offshore race on a sail boat or systems check on a power boat.
